Critical Analysis of Peggy Guggenheim’s Exhibition by 31 Women
Written for my History of the Art Market course at IESA, this paper explores Peggy Guggenheim’s groundbreaking 1943 exhibition Exhibition by 31 Women. Through this analysis, I looked at how Guggenheim challenged the male-dominated art world by promoting female artists, while also considering how her efforts revealed the complexities and contradictions of gendered curating in the modern era.
